Taronga has a deep commitment to conservation science. They work with universities, governments and conservation partners in Australia and internationally on the challenges effecting wildlife and people. The Zoo delivers conservation education programs to increase knowledge and awareness and to inspire students to become global leaders in conservation.

Taronga Zoo is located in Mosman, on the shores of Sydney Harbour. It was officially 1916 and is managed by the Zoological Parks Board of New South Wales who also have the Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo.

Taronga Zoo Sydney is home to more than 2,600 animals of approximately 250 different species on a spectacular scenic part of Sydney Harbour. The Zoo covers 28 hectares of water front, headland and bushland environment.
