Sydney Toll Roads

IMPORTANT

Sydney’s toll roads are electronic and cashless tollways.

They will save you lots of time and are easy to navigate if you do your homework first.

PLAN YOUR TRIP

Plan your trip before you leave home. Use online maps such as Google Maps and the RMS Motorway Guide to work out your route.

Set your sat nav or phone before you start because once you are on a tollway you won’t be able to pull over and figure out where you are or where to go.

We strongly recommend you use the Roads and Maritime Service’s web site guide about how to use Sydney’s motorway network.

BEST TO GET A TAG OR PASS FIRST

You can use Sydney tollways and motorway at any time, but you will need to arrange a pass either before or within 3 days of your trip.

Road signs on the motorway show the phone number and website details about how you can do this.

Make sure you arrange to pay as large fines apply for nonpayment.

TAGS AND PASSES

All Sydney toll roads are cashless, so you need an electronic tag or pass. To find out how to get one, how to pay a toll notice, and calculate the tolls that apply to your journey go to the Roads and Maritime tags and passes website.
