Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre Liverpool
Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre is a cultural facility of the Liverpool City Council on the banks of the Georges River. They have a busy schedule of exhibitions, performances, festivals, screenings, theatre and events across six galleries, two theatres and a large main hall.
They also have the Bellbird Dining & Bar, open for breakfast, brunches and lunches seven days a week, with dinner available as well for selected evening events.
There are kids and artists studios, a ceramics studio, a small outdoor amphitheatre and a self-contained three-bedroom apartment for artists-in-residence.
There is free car parking and Casula Railway Station next door, making getting there and home again easy. They are open seven days a week, except for Public Holidays and the Christmas-New Year period.
The centre is located within the Casula Parklands; 20 hectares of riverside parklands incorporating 2x children’s adventure playgrounds, an adult “Ninja Training Course” two off-leash dog parks and a sculpture walk.
The various spaces and services can be hired by event producers, from small workshops and conferences to weddings to film screenings to major events for hundreds of guests. The main theatre seats 320 people and has full DCP projection facilities as well as excellent lighting, sound and dressing rooms. Their experienced Events team can also deal with all aspects of events, from catering to theming to all aspects of staging and production.
ABOUT THE COLLECTION
The Liverpool Collection, managed by Casula Powerhouse and Liverpool Regional Museum, boasts an extensive collection of over 30,000 artworks and heritage objects which reflect the great diversity of cultures that make up the City of Liverpool.
The focus of the collection is to build a legacy from the creativity and commitment of emerging and established artists and showcase artworks that engage, entertain and challenge audiences across the community.
The collection also has a traditional focus built on the responsibility of preserving Liverpool’s rich history. Established with the Museum’s opening in 1989, the Collection has grown to include items of great historical significance associated with the dynasties that lived in Collingwood and the communities of the greater Liverpool region.
Casula Powerhouse and Liverpool Regional Museum are registered to receive gifts of objects as artworks under the Australian Government’s Cultural Gifts Program.

TRAIN
Disembark at Casula Station on the T2 Inner West & South Line or T5 Cumberland – first stop after Liverpool (from Sydney) or Glenfield (from Campbelltown). www.131500.info Please note the T2 Airport line is different from the T2 Inner West/South – if coming from City Circle via the airport, please change at Glenfield.
CAR AND BICYCLE
From Parramatta or Campbelltown way (without tolls)
Take the Hume Highway going towards Liverpool. Follow it all the way into Terminus Street, Liverpool and turn right into Pirie Street. Follow the signs to the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, Shepard Street Entrance.
From the M5/City (with tolls)
Take the M5 to Liverpool. Exit at Moorebank Avenue and drive towards Liverpool turning left at Newbridge Road. Turn left into Speed Street and follow the signs to Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre.
ACCESS
Visitors with restricted mobility can enjoy all public areas of Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre. The theatre is fitted with a hearing loop and has provision for restricted mobility access. Guide and Hearing Dogs are welcome.
